Post having nothing to do with Lisa

Last post reminded me of the Nordstrom Hazelnut Candy. I found this one day in the store while waiting for Lisa to try on cloths. I would wonder the shop while waiting and one day in their little gift cubby I found stacks of these chocolates. I remember mint and hazelnut, but i think there was also a third variety. They were really good, but now I can't find any evidence they ever existed. I think they had a posh name like "indulgences" or something irrelevant to what they were, but I could be wrong. They came in boxes that were triangular tubes about 10" high and 4" on a side.

I actually have pieces of some of the boxes since it was a strong cardboard and I put it in my jewelry toolkit for making models, but I don't have the part of the box with the name. Does anyone remember Nordstom hazelnut chocolate? Or Nordstrom mint chocolate in triangular cardboard boxes?

They were on sale in the late 90's and then I moved to CA and don't ever remember seeing them there so I am guessing they have been gone for some time.

If you know of these chocolates and have any information leave me a comment. If I ever find Lisa I will remind her of this candy as I know it was one of her favorites as well.

[2016 - these were the Nordstrom copy of the Frango mints that they made for a couple of years when they were unavailable from the original manufacturer.]

I was spending my time in the doldrums
I was caught in the cauldron of hate
I felt persecuted and paralyzed
I thought that everything else would just wait
While you are wasting your time on your enemies
Engulfed in a fever of spite
Beyond your tunnel vision reality fades
Like shadows into the night

To martyr yourself to caution
Is not going to help at all
Because there'll be no safety in numbers
When the Right One walks out of the door

Can you see your days blighted by darkness?
Is it true you beat your fists on the floor?
Stuck in a world of isolation
While the ivy grows over the door

So I open my door to my enemies
And I ask could we wipe the slate clean
But they tell me to please go fuck myself
You know you just can't win

Speech has allowed the communication of ideas, enabling human beings to work together to build the impossible
Mankind's greatest achievements have come about by talking
Our greatest hopes could become reality in the future, with the technology at our disposal, the possibilities are unbounded

All we need to do is make sure we keep talking

Dear chris

I’ve clumsily been trying to have a mature conversation about the maladjustment in our family. You once said you didn’t know what was wrong with Danny, he has a lot of traits of a person with narcissistic personality disorder (NPD). The bad news is people with this disorder are unlikely to acknowledge there is problem. Consequently, they rarely get the help they need.

Narcissistic abuse has been a part of all the sibling’s lives. We have all been affected to some degree.

My relationship with Dad, suggested that my role was one of co-dependence. I'm sure dad knew that the work I was doing for him would have cost them 3 to 4 times as much, if he had to payed someone else to do it. Only a maladjusted person actively puts there own child at a financial disadvantage.

I still have not figured out how to be around this group and not allow my experiences to affect me. Using avoidance is a common coping skill. I see a lot of family member's using varying methods of avoidance.

It is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick family
